Lia Molly Sweater at Swirl

Swirl by Daily Candy is having sale on their sweaters.  Some Lia Molly items are under $50.   It is a brand anthropologie carries.  I love the beautiful knit of Lia Molly sweater in the past,  but the fit can be problematic at times.  For your reference I am usually a S in their item.  If you are into Lia Molly, those are pretty good price, consider most of their sweater are regular priced at $200 or more.

Happy Shopping!

Do those look familiar? This dress is one of the item up for flash sale today at Hautelook.  Is Weston Wear one of Anthro's vendor?

I am sure I picked up one of this last year when it was on sale at Anthro.

Reinventing from the past?

It is funny how the week back from the vacation is always the busiest.  It is almost like you need another vacation for it.   Here are some pictures from the vacation so I can  take a mental vacation from time to time.

This is my daughter trying to stuff herself with the Chicago style stuff pizza. Somehow watching her eat makes me smile.

This is not the first time, but Millennium park is always fun.

Let's match up our outfit with the color of this tricolor set of sculptures.

On our way, we saw this weird sculptures that look like legs and my daughter insist checking it out. I really don't get the modern sculptures, they are not visually appealing to me at all, but they are pretty fun :-)

OK, Back to today's topic, if I haven't strayed from that far enough.  Has anyone notice that in  LOFT's latest arrival, some of them look really familiar?

First is this dress, does this remind you Anthropologie's  Time gone by dress?

LOFT at ShopStyle

Here is another one, looks familiar? I don't remember the Anthro skirt's name, but I see it in a lot of Anthro's blog. Anyone knew which skirt I am talking about?

LOFT at ShopStyle
LOFT often has things similar to anthro but at a much lower price point.  I am curious enough to take the bait  with this weekends additional 40% off everything promotion. Let's see.

D'armee Dress

How is everyone adjusting to the daylight's saving time so far? I was really late this morning to work.  My daughter this morning decided that she is old enough to tie her hair. so here is the result:

Half decent huh?  That is if you don't look at the back... But we let her off to school the way it is at the risk of leaving the teacher a bad impression of me being a sloppy mother who forgot to comb her daughter's hair.  One should always encourage the little ones when they are willing to try :-P

Remember I was worried about D'armee Dress being too shiny?  I love it! It surely took a long time for it to arrive.  I decided to go with Grey instead of the green at the end. What a comfortable and easy dress!  I love how you can just throw it on and go.

Speaking of sale, did anyone notice this at nordstrom? I wish I know how to walk on a 3 inch heel.  I just love the pearl like color. It is on sale for $59.90 right now.

Anthro Sale Picks and Copy"Cat" OOTD

It is the Anthro Sale Wednsday.  Any one score anything?  Please do share it so I don't feel bad about my purchase because I can't resist with the returning free shipping promotion.

Here are my picks.

Wrapped Asters Cardi.

D'armee Dress - I am really curious about this dress.  I have seem many blogger posting their pictures with it.  Some picture come out a bit shinier than the picture on the website and they do not look as dark. Not sure whose camera is more accurate.   For those of try it on before, please chime in.  Is this dress shiny? Am I in for a disappointment?

Along with the new sale, I see the Peggy Sue dress pop back and decided to give it a try.

Here is an copy"Cat" outfit I submit to Kim from Anthroholic but forgot to post on my own blog.  Cat from Anthrostottir wore something with full gold skirt and stripe shirt at one point.  (For somer reason her old post are all gone) She wore hers with the shirt tucked in.   I  have trouble with wearing anything tucked in for some reason. Are you an in or out person?

Sweater: JCREW merino boatneck sweater
Bottom: Anthr field skirt
Necklace: Anthro Clockbot Necklace
Boots: UGG Australia

Spring has arrived....

Spring has arrived, so has Nordstrom's February Catalog.  I had always love the quality of the glossy photo paper those catalogs are printed on.   This month's catalog is particularly beautiful and romantic with the overall beige and pink tone. It somehow reminds me of a blooming pink peony.

Although I don't usually rings, not even wedding rings because it tends to scratch the kids,  I still like to look at those candy looking  rings.

I love this oversized bag in the photograph, and is very tempted to get one.  However the real bag is darker and greener than the picture to my liking.

And these scarfs are so beautiful, may I have one color each please?

And the lace dress model is wearing is so romantic.

Actually most of the time I am not sure I am drawn to the product itself, or it is the glamor created by the beautiful photography romanticized the material.  It is probably the later.  In general I like Nordstrom's impeccable service, but the place is too big to shop for a lot of times.  The pricing is good and they are quick to move their inventory.   They carry many of the brands Anthropologie carries, such as Leifstottir,  bailey 44, three dots, splendid just to name a few.

Also I notice this  Orla Kiely bag for $40.  I had a cross body one and really love it.  It is light weight and the print stands out against  a black or dark grey coat.

Last I leave you with a not so spring outfit of the day.

Sale Finds under $50

  • JCREW Cord Atlee skirt  This skirt didn't look like much at first.  The I saw how cute it look on Jan,  The Girlest Boy Mom.  It is so versatile and casual piece for the winter and the short length really works out well for petite girls. With the price of $24.99 +30% off, you just can't go wrong with it.  You can my outfit with this skirt here

  • JCREW Tiered silk ruffle dress ($49.99 + 30% off) is a party dress, but it is very comfortable.  Good for a evening out. I wore this dress to Jay Chou's concert at New Year's Eve. I wish I have a better outfit picture than this, but my camera ran out of battery 5 second before the count down and I did not have a chance to take a outfit picture.

I guess after the whole shopping season, everyone is sort of on shopping ban? Hope you can still have some room for some good deals.  There is also maybe a sale tomorrow form Anthropologie?  Happy Shopping!

Home Goods

Some the home item are having their best price this holiday season.

Newegg has OXO Good Grips 10-Piece POP Container Set for $58.95 when you enter code EMCZNYN79 at checkout. Shipping is free. I got a set a while back at amazon and they are wonderful to store the snacks! But this price is even better. When I told hubby that I saw this great deal, he nervously asked "You didn't get another set, did you?"

.
Macy's has Wusthof Classic Ikon Santoku Knife, 5" for $45 if you enter code MACYSFRIEND.  $99 purchase will get you freeshiping.  I love a good knife especially when trying to cut the beef paper thin.  A good tool is always worthwhile.

Anthropologie Surprise Sale

Did anyone notice the clinton trench went on sale for $99??? Were there any left? Really love this trench.  That and the bag are the only two things from Anthro I packed to our recent Disney trip. Somehow most Anthro piece are too fuzzy to bring on a trip.  They don't interchange and layer as well as JCREW.   If you are able to get the clinton trench in your size for this sale price, you are the lucky one.

The Brassica Dress went for second cut of $29.99. It seem to have very good reviews so it might be worth trying it out.

Did you score anything today? I liked some of the layering piece, but they were instantly gone.  For now, I will stick with gap for my basic tee's.

Sale season starts early?

There seem to be many deals going on right now.  Many offers 30% discounts.  Gap just finish their round of Give and Get promotion.  Right now JCREW has save extra 30% on sale items promotion using the JCREW promotion code. I didn't see anything particularly stand out for myself but did get to score something for my son.  Many are gone instantly like the military jacket for $38.   Still available is the Boy's Sherpa hoodie

Jcrew's Sherpa hoodie is of very good quality.  I have bought other brands of similar product, such as Crazy 8 and Gap, none has the quality that would remotely compare.  It is very warm, enough for the winter here in SF bay area and is super soft.  It withdands many wash without getting thin out.  Of course this is a gender neutral piece that can easily pass down to my daughter.  Highly recommend it for its quality.  With the discount it came out to $30.24.  It is still expensive.   Considering boys don't get to have many cloth,  I felt it is worth the splurge on a few piece he constantly wears.

Ann Taylor also has the friends and family 30% off promotion.

I strongly recommend the Luxary Drape Wrap.  I have a thing for unstructured wraps.   This is such an interesting piece because it can be wear in so many different ways  and is very soft and warm.  I got the gray color after drooling over it for sometime  and loved it.  The current addition of carmel color adds lovely warmth to the tone.   It is slightly itchy so I would wear a long sleeve inside though.

I have also noticed that the store sometimes have the sale item cheaper than online so if you have time it is probably better to go to the store.

Sale Haul

I was really hope to find a picture review before I make the purchase yesterday, but didn't find any.   This little thing didn't receive much love from the bloggers, but I felt it is so Chinese new year with the red color and the flower pattern.   The I find out Cat from Anthrdottir review it at today's post after I placed my order.  Despite the fact that she didn't like it much, I think it looks fabulous on her.

Second cut $19.99, I thought it was going to sold out before it reach sale, and guess it didn't.  Haha, I am so glad I didn't pay full price for it.

What I like and didn't get? The Roaring Olive Dress. Even at sale price, it is still expensive.  I am wishing for a second cut...Am I only dreaming?

Leifsdottir Deal

With summer comes to the end, a lot of good sales are going on.  Remember that beautiful yellow dotted skirt on the cover of Anthropologie spring issue?

The blue version came down to $49.95 on Leifsdottir's website.  I honestly doesn't know whether Leifsdottir's cloth is worth $198 for a cotton skirt as the price normally deter me from even trying it on. But at $50, it is a bit tempting.
